Taittinger is one of the last great Champagne houses to have preserved its independence while proudly bearing the name of its owners and family stewards—a guarantee of enduring savoir-faire and a distinctive style, characterized by a high proportion of Chardonnay, a grape synonymous with finesse and elegance in the Champagne terroir. With a 288-hectare estate—one of the largest vineyards in the region—cultivated with the utmost respect for the land, Taittinger upholds an uncompromising signature and produces wines that are celebrated around the world for their unwavering quality.
Today, this remarkable site is one of the treasures included on UNESCO’s World Heritage List under the designation Champagne Hillsides, Houses, and Cellars.
The Château de la Marquetterie, the heart of the estate, has a rich history—once home to Enlightenment writer Jacques Cazotte and later a WWI military headquarters. Its connection to Champagne dates back to the 17th century when early fermentation secrets were discovered there. The château's acquisition marked the beginning of the Taittinger family’s enduring legacy in Champagne.
